FAHRETTIN DURAN’S EXHIBITION TITLED “BALANCE” CAN BE SEEN AT MINE ART GALLERY SHOWROOM IN YALIKAVAK BETWEEN 27 TH AUGUST – 19TH SEPTEMBER, 2016!

Fahrettin Duran who graduated from Halil Akdeniz’s atelier at Isik University also took sculpture courses from Meric Hizal’s atelier as sub-branch.
Especially stones and rocks are prominent on Duran’s sculptures and his works on canvas. With these prominent elements, he tries to find answers to the questions that he has encountered since his childhood. The enormous mountains and deep valleys of the region where he was born and raised took his attention, so much so that his playground was the mountainside and the frightful valley right behind his home. There are many rocks and stones in many different colors, shapes and sizes. Along with them, there are caves resembling “black holes” with different sizes and dreadfulness. Fahrettin Duran tries to establish links between what he sees and his thoughts since then. So, these links set a “balance” on the basis of balance relation. Balance perception sets out a journey for him, sometimes very long and sometimes short trips, between micro world & macro cosmos.
While embracing painting and sculpture as means of expression between today’s world and the child’s world, Fahrettin Duran brings mountains, stones, rocks, valleys and caves to his studio. He tries to convert chaos and cosmos to artistic expressions via the metaphors in his studio. He sees the issues that he is interested from different perspectives and always gets further away from them right after. He looks at the universe with Hubble’s space telescope, and also Ruska’s electron microscope. And sometimes he looks what Hubble sees through the eyes of Ruska.
With his first solo exhibition titled as “Balance” at Mine Art Gallery, Fahrettin Duran takes the first step to continue as one of the young artists of the gallery.
As the first exhibition opening at Mine Art Gallery Showroom which is organised to create space for young artists who are at the beginning of their carreer, the gallery aims to fulfill an important responsibility by supporting young artists.
The opening cocktail of Fahrettin Duran’s “Balance” exhibition will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016, at 19:00, at Mine Art Gallery Showroom.
