Mine Sanat, brings all art lovers together with “How Many Steps Does Far Take!” exhibition by Özgül Arslan on December 4, 2013, in the last days of 2013.
The exhibition focuses on the last period production of the artist and is viewed with location specific arrangement and movie by Özgül Arslan, besides her paintings drawn by using and blanking bleaches on black velvet fabric.
Özgül Arslan, who positions “woman” – an image shaped by formal ideologies, masculine power and consumption culture- in the center of her productions, adopts a multi level narration extending from individual to society in the art practice she has been working on since the mid of 1990s. Production diversity showing up in different channels as paintings, photos, videos, installation continues to reveal itself both on the touch of the artist to current reality and on her emphasize on plural esthetics of today’s art. Özgül Arslan focuses on both last period production, social facts, relationships, life styles, personal experiences and art history under the title of “How Many Steps Does Far Take!”
