SERKAN BAYER “RASDELKA II (EAST – WEST)“ EXHIBITION AT MINE ART GALLERY IN NISANTASI DATING FROM 13TH OF MAY!

Serkan Bayer who was born in Elazig in 1975, started his first artistic works as apprentice of Cemal Arslan, an esteemed artist that we lost recently. After 4 years of education with him, during his master studies in the early 2000s, Bayer strengthened his philosophical background by taking the philosophy and theory of art courses from Prof. Dr. Jale Nejdet Erzen who is the METU Architecture Faculty Dean and also an esteemed artist.

The artist who is impressed by the religious myths that he worked on especially between the years 1999-2011, also includes ancient legends in his art works. Starting new abstract and conceptual era in his works since 2011, he has brought Rasdelka concept to the life.

Compared to his previous exhibitions, this time, Serkan Bayer presents his own way in symbolizing concrete and abstract concepts, by showing the unseen as three-dimentional and also making it visible. When we look at the works of him, first thing which draws our attention is the abstract figures inside the outer cover as he called ‘the shirt of the wisdom’. Volumetrically multi-layered and three-dimentional art works shine out with the special mortar and the techniques that he developed. The artist who developed Rasdelka series in time exhibits his own techniques and feelings.
