BURCU YAVUZ “SOMNIUM” EXHIBITION AT MINE ART GALLERY IN BODRUM YALIKAVAK PALMARINA BRANCH BY 21 OCTOBER, 2015.
Our young artist Burcu Yavuz who had her education at Marmara University Fine Arts Academy, continued her artworks in Istanbul and Bodrum. With the suggestion of Izzet Oz, she began her career in TV programmes. Between the years 1999 and 2002, she became known with the art programme named “Burcu Burcu” at Super Channel. She also both took over the responsibility of production and hosted the show named as “Dekoratif” at ATV between the years 2003 – 2004. She conveyed her passion in art to her audience in her TV programmes that she focused mainly on painting, sculpture, photography, cinema, theatre, and architecture.
Besides her works on TV programmes, the artist has continued to reflect the unknown and the unseen to canvas. She is in dealing with the discovering of the universe that she dreamed of since she was a child. Questioning the world of fiction and real by using colors and forms, the art works of Yavuz are the expressions of her dreams. “Somnium” which means ‘dream’ in Latin describes her works.
By using acrylic and by trying the spreading technique in her art works, Yavuz generally uses black background. Burcu Yavuz presents a selection of her latest works under the title “Somnium” at Mine Art Gallery in Bodrum, Yalıkavak, Palmarina branch.
The opening exhibition will be held in 21 October 2015, Wednesday at Mine Art Gallery Bodrum Yalıkavak Palmarina branch.
